Lying within the quiet greenery of “Phoenix Park” is “VERITA”, a wellness center that opened in November 2010.
It is a facility that provides three complete services of fitness gym, spa, and health. 70% of users are women, but there are also many married couples.
“All our customers that use our facility are highly health-conscious and make use of all three services in a balanced manner. Although there are a few that begin with the spa portion of the centre, we have seen many users start to take an interest in fitness and nutrition, as they gradually understand the benefits of integrative health” explains the facility’s assistant marketing manager Rie Watanabe.
The fitness menu consists of yoga, Pilates, Zumba, kick boxing, etc. Classes are held from 7:15 in the morning to the last class starting at 8:30pm, so many users stop by before work or after. Pilates is especially popular amongst the housewives, while the gym is used mainly by men.
The spa menu consists of massage therapy, facial therapy, etc. Specialists use fine products, so those with allergies or sensitive skin can also make use of the spa.
At the aroma bar, an aroma therapist has carefully selected high quality oils for aroma therapy. Through counseling, users can create unique aroma oils to match their physical and mental condition.
“Salt Cave” therapy, rare even in Singapore, is especially popular from babies to adults. Just relaxing in the room with walls and flooring made from “Dead Sea Salt” has detoxing effects and is also effective for improving respiratory diseases like asthma, as well as those with sensitive skin.
Aside from the fitness gym and spa, health services that support those who want “to improve their lifestyle” or “to attain mind and body health” are also popular.
Based on the results of blood, saliva, and urine tests from the “Core Health Plus” programme, qualified nutritionists and naturopaths will take each client through a 60-min consultation to customise a health plan that considers each client’s physical condition and lifestyle to help them manage their diet and wellbeing recommending therapies such as massages and infrared sauna.
Rie explains, “Our facilities are also used to complement conventional medical practices. Our nutritionists and natural health practitioners are able to coach clients special diets, herbal supplements, and a fitness regime to become physically and mentally healthy in addition to medications prescribed by their physician.”
Through the 47-day diet program “ReVeal”, some sa they were able to loose 15 kg. By writing a personal food diary, while being provided recipes for diet menus of less than 500kcal, you can review your everyday diet with the advice of a nutritionist. “If you are too busy working to cook for yourself, the nutritionist can also recommend menus you can try at the Hawker Center,” Rie says.

There is also a restaurant within the facility, which can be used in addition to the fitness gym and spa. Nutritional foods such as acai and camu camu can also be purchased at the onsite shop.
