Forever searching for the Fountain of Youth, many people may find themselves spending hundreds, even thousands, of dollars on beauty products, salons and spa treatments each year hoping to achieve the latest and greatest skin, hair and body.
You’d be amazed to find many natural and low-cost ingredients found right in your kitchen cupboard that produces amazing results and often work better than the expensive brands. Refrigerator of Youth, anyone?
Body Scrub of Lemon and Brown Sugar
It has lemon which acts as a natural disinfectant. It cleanses clogged pores and opens them up. This oily scrub gives you smooth and healthy skin.
- 1/1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. of honey
- 1 tbsp. of your favorite essential oil
- 2 tbsps. coconut oil or olive oil
- 2 tbsps. of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 cup sea salt
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl until it turns into a paste. In circular motion, apply it to the moist skin with your fingertips. Wash you’re the skin with warm water. Then apply moisturizer. It will result in soft, glowing and smooth skin.
Foot Milky Soak
- 5 cups of whole milk (warmed)
- 2 tbsp. Epsom Salt
- 6 drops Lavender essential oil
Make a warm footbath and soak your feet in it for 20 minutes. You can use the above given body scrub to remove dead cells of skin, from the feet.
Avocado Conditioning Mask
Mash an avocado (two for long hair) in a bowl with a fork until it is a thick, rich paste. Add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil for fragrance (optional.) Spread the paste on the hair from the root to the ends. Leave on for 20 minutes; then shampoo out and rinse out. It results in moisturized, smooth, stronger, shiny hair and increased vitality to dry, dull hair.
Olive Oil Hair Conditioning Mask
Beat two eggs (three for long hair) and add in three tablespoons of olive oil. Add your favorite essential oils for fragrance (optional.) Apply a liberal amount to hair from root to tip. Wrap hair in warm towel and rest for about 30 minutes. After you rinse, you will notice how soft, shiny and manageable your hair will be. Do once a month (twice for dry hair).
Bleaching Strawberries Mask
Catherine Zeta-Jones recommends this mask to remove discoloration and stains on your teeth. Mix ½ teaspoon of baking soda with one ripened (crushed) strawberry. Apply this mixture on your teeth by the help of the tooth brush, and let it rest for 5 minutes; then use your regular toothpaste to clean your teeth and you will be amazed by the result if done once a week religiously.
Face scrub of Honey Oats
Mix 2 tablespoons dry oatmeal, 1 tablespoon grounded almonds, 1 table spoon honey and some yogurt or lemon juice to a exfoliating and luxurious facial scrub. Gently massage the mixture onto your face and rinse it with warm water. Apply your favorite moisturizer afterward.
Honey & Yogurt Mask
Combine 1 part of honey and 1-part of yogurt and apply to your moist face. Keep it on for 15 minutes and rinse well with warm water. It soothes hydrates and moisturizes the skin. Honey can also be used as an acne treatment.
Facial Cream of Banana
Mash ½ ripened bananaa till it gets creamy in texture. Apply on the face and let it set for 20 minutes. Wash the face with warm water first and then with cold water to close pores. Pat dry.
