Have you heard of ESPA at Resort World Sentosa, Singapore’s first top class spa? It was established on Singapore’s resort island, Sentosa, in July of 2012.
ESPA is a world class spa created out of a partnership with top class hotel groups across over 55 countries, such as Peninsula and Ritz-Carlton.
Susan Harmsworth MBE, who is known as the “Spa Guru” (the leading spa expert), is an accredited master who fuses her signature use of natural raw materials and design that is both unique and characteristic of the location into a classic experience individually formed to best fit each guest.
Having won World Luxury Spa Awards, such as Best Luxury Emerging Spa – Worldwide, Best Luxury Destination Spa – Singapore, Best Luxury Resort Spa – Singapore, in just the first year after opening, EPSA has gained a high reputation in the world of spas, and has no equal in Asia.
The spa, which is like a peaceful oasis where you can enjoy ocean views and scenery abundant with greenery, has 24 multi-purpose treatment rooms and private treatment villas, as well as two beach villas. The interiors utilize natural materials that have warm earth tones with patterns and textures that suit the environment, giving an overall feeling of serenity.
The facility offers total care, including a top class selection of results-oriented holistic spa treatments like body and facial massages. They also offer options for parties such as nail care.
For spa treatment, an ideal gift for someone important (or reward for yourself) is EPSA Time. It offers treatment time (120 minutes or more) with a first class therapist that is flexible and stress free for optimum treatment results. From personal experience, I can recommend the Energy Balancing Body Treatment (120), a body and head message that uses hot stones and essential oils to balance the body.
The spa also offers Singapore’s only authentic Turkings Hamam. Hamam means ‘heat’ in Arabic and it is a traditional style of cleansing bath and massage, popular in Morocco and Turkey, which has been handed down over the ages. It features a body scrub that uses a traditional kese mitt and black olive soap which leaves your skin feeling revived and silky.
In addition, there are a great number of relaxation areas both inside and out, such as the onsen style pool, that offers a hint of traditional Japanese open-air unisex baths. In addition to state of the art equipment and personal trainers, the gym has a studio where you can do yoga, Pilates, and mediation surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Celebrity chef Sam Leong and his wife Forest run the facility’s restaurant, Tangerine, with ESPA’s nutritionist. At Tangerine, you can enjoy health “spa cuisine”, with dishes such as the Wild Pepper Leaf Wrap, with walnuts and a variety of herbs that contain antioxidants and support your immune system; the Oriental Herbal Chicken Soup, with circulation improving caterpillar fungus; and the Barley Porridge, with seafood and Qunia containing chicken extract and dietary fiber.
Additionally, in May of 2013 they started the Holistic Lifestyle Retreat Program. You can choose from four programs that fir your goals: Fit fo Life, Weight Management, Intro to Detox, or Intro to Destress. Lodging is included in this comprehensive lifestyle retreat.
Staying one to three nights at either the Aquarius Hotel adjacent to ESPA or a beach villa, guests can enjoy consultations from ESPA’s specialist team of naturopathic doctors, therapists, and personal trainers.
You can have a personalized experience with a custom program featuring ESPA’s signature spa treatments, like massage and Hamam; fitness and wellness activities including workshops on tai chi, aqua aerobics, yoga, and cooking & beauty; and Tangerine’s selection of spa cuisine. Guests are of course free to use the gym (complete with pool and new machines) and relaxation lounge.
How does relaxation and self improvement in the luxurious environment of a top class spa sound to you?
