All-Natural Face Masks

Feel like regular day trips to the spa just aren’t in your budget? Not to worry! You can bring the “spa” right to your home by experimenting with do-it-yourself, at-home face masks. And the cherry on top? You can create all of these rejuvenating face masks with all-natural health food products. Take a look at six of the most luxurious, natural face masks that you can make from the comfort of your own home.

1. The Acai Berry Facial

This berry mask is not only an excellent facial treatment used to combat wrinkles, it also acts as a pore tightener. Additionally, the sugar in this do-it-yourself mask acts as a scrub to brush away any debris trapped in the pores.

To make this sweet-smelling facial, combine a two-third cup of any kind of sugar with two teaspoons of either acai slush or acai powder. Add in ten berries of your choice. Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, or a mix of all three will work well. Finally, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Mash all of the ingredients together before gently whisking everything. The texture will be coarse once you have everything mashed together. Apply the facial mixture to your face and neck, and leave there for five minutes before washing off.

2. The Spirulina Facial

This all-natural face mask does wonders for the skin in a variety of ways. It acts as a skin-balancing treatment while reducing wrinkles and other fine lines. It also boasts some pretty impressive anti-bacterial properties.

To create this simple face mask, combine just half a teaspoon of spirulina powder with one teaspoon of lemon juice and one mashed banana. Stir the ingredients together, and let it sit on your face for ten to twenty minutes before rinsing off. (Make sure that you use warm water for this one!) The spirulina has more antioxidants than fresh berries, so this powder works to rejuvenate the skin and protect it from sun damage. The lemon juice gives your skin a beautiful glow after the facial, and the mashed banana acts as a moisturizer.

3. The Wine Facial

Who knew that you could combine two of the most fabulous things on earth into an age-defying face mask? It turns out that wine is not only something that is beneficial for your heart, but also for your skin (when you apply it topically in the form of a face mask). This face mask is useful for anyone looking for a smooth, wrinkle-free appearance or repairs after sun damage. There is a powerful antioxidant known as resveratrol that is found in red wine that reverses the effects of sun damage on the skin, thus saving it from unnecessary sagging and extra wrinkles.

To create this mask, combine one-quarter cup of any red wine with one-quarter cup of kaolin clay. Add in two tablespoons of grape seed oil and one tablespoon of organic oat flour. Stir the ingredients together and apply to the face, keeping the mask on for ten minutes before washing off. You could feel results as soon as a day later and notice that your skin is healthier and more hydrated.

4. Exfoliating Strawberry Facial

This delightful-smelling fruit facial is an excellent choice for anyone looking to exfoliate and nourish their skin with plenty of hydration. Because of the combination of strawberry, bee pollen, and honey, this at-home facial remedy is loaded with plenty of antioxidants.

To create this facial mask, combine ten fresh strawberries with a quarter-cup of bee pollen and three tablespoons of raw, unfiltered honey. Lastly, pour in one tablespoon of olive oil mayonnaise and a couple drops of lavender essential oil (the lavender oil is optional, but gives off a pleasant, aromatic scent). Stir all of the ingredients together, and gently mix it onto your skin, leaving it there for twenty minutes before washing it away. Thanks to the olive oil mayonnaise, your skin will not only get hydrated but will also feel silky smooth.

5. The Clam Shell Facial

This is an excellent option for anyone who is looking to get rid of puffy, baggy eyes.

To start, soak two polished clam shells in ice cold water for fifteen to twenty minutes. Afterward, remove the clam shells from the icy water and gently rub them over puffy eyes and any other part of the face that might have become puffy overnight. Do this until the clam shells are no longer cold, and try to make this a morning ritual, rather than using the facial later in the day. When it is used first thing in the morning, it gets rids of any nighttime puffiness right away.

6. Brown Sugar Facial

This is a great sugar scrub face mask that is ideal for acne sufferers and anyone else with sensitive skin. To make this mask, combine three tablespoons of brown sugar with three tablespoons of raw, unfiltered honey. Squeeze in a few drops of lemon and mix all of the ingredients together. Apply the mixture to your face and let it sit for twenty minutes before washing off. The sugar scrub exfoliates and smooths the face, while the lemon and honey offer anti-bacterial properties. The lemon will also give the face a radiant glow, and the honey makes the face silky and soft.
